A Guide To Temora: Eat, Stay & Play

Vintage planes, lakeside picnics and country pub dinners, Temora’s got altitude and attitude in equal measure.

MORNING

Start your day like a local at Espresso House, where Campos coffee comes with a side of friendly banter or if you prefer Toby’s Estate beans and something toasted and gourmet, try The Fed and Bed Courtyard Cafe just down the street.

From here, take a slow stroll through the local shop fronts as the town’s country charm awakes, stopping in at
A Little Ray of Sunshine and Diamonds & Dust, where curated antiques, coffee and sweet treats make it dangerously easy to lose track of time.

AFTERNOON

No visit to Temora is complete without a stop at the famous Aviation Museum. A must-see on the Temora bucket list, time your trip for one of their showcase weekends, and you’ll see an unforgettable display as WWII warheads return to the skies. Have lunch at the Guard House Cafe and let the kids (and big kids) test our their skills in the flight simulator. When the engines go quiet, head to Lake Centenary for swimming, kayaking or a lakeside picnic or wander out to Gidgee Estate, a boutique garden and nursery and join in on one of their workshops or take home a bunch of seasonal blooms.

EVENING

As hunger starts to hum, The Termo (Terminus Hotel Bistro) is always a guaranteed crowd-pleaser, otherwise The Temora Hotel or Gallery Bistro at the Ex-Services Club deliver classic pub favourites done right, with generous plates and relaxed local feels.

STAY & Unwind

End the night beneath a big Riverina sky in the courtyard of Haberton House, glass in hand, shoulders lowered, time standing still, just off the main street.

Or stretch out on your private deck at Three Ponds Estate, enjoying the stillness and gazing up at the night’s stars in one of their Scandi-inspired farm-stay pods.

Temora also offers a range of motels, hotels and caravan-friendly stays, so whether you’re seeking comfort, convenience or character, you’re always guaranteed a peaceful night’s sleep.
