A Guide To Narrandera: Eat, Stay & Play

Courtyard coffee, koalas in the treetops and river views that slow time down, Narrandera gives you permission to pause.

Set on the banks of the Murrumbidgee, this leafy little town feels worlds away from the rush.

A place where you can hear the gum trees whisper, see koalas dozing in the branches, and still make it back to town for a perfectly brewed flat white, if you’re craving somewhere calm and character-filled with charm, then this is the spot.

MORNING

Ease into the day at Narrandera Bakery, or if you’re an early riser then The Early Opener lives up to its name serving fresh pastries and caffeine from 5am.

For a browse-with-a-brew moment, The Red Door Café blends homewares with hospitality, sip your latte amongst shelves of linens, ceramics and pieces you’ll want to take home.

Then wander to the Narrandera Discovery Hub to map out your day. Perhaps a stroll on the skywalk, or in summer, swap shoes for swimmers and cool off at Rocky Waterholes and enjoy the slides and pools at Lake Talbot Water Park.

AFTERNOON

Narrandera rewards curiosity. Wander the Murrumbidgee River Trail, stop for photos on the bridges, or follow the scent of eucalyptus and spot Koalas along the Flora & Fauna Reserve. Whether it’s exploring the big art, from water towers, big guitars or tennis racquets, or the many bike and hike trails, spend the afternoon in about town before a stop in at The Yard for a tasty sweet treat with a side of retro.

Evening

When dinner rolls around, take your pick. Grab a table at Blue Apron Steakhouse at the Ex-Servicemen’s Club, or stop in at the Charles Sturt Hotel for a counter meal and a chat with locals. Prefer takeaway at your own pace? A Narrandera Pizza enjoyed by the water at sunset never disappoints.

STay & UNWIND

Pitch a tent by Lake Talbot, book a cabin beneath star-filled skies, or settle into local comfort at Doultan Cottage B&B or Narrandera Retreat. Motor inns and caravan-friendly stays always make checking in easy and checking out a little harder.
